Watch Yankees vs. Red Sox

The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have never been the best of friends - and that was never more apparent than during their meeting on Wednesday night. They'll try to touch Porcello up with a vaunted lineup that put up 10 runs against Red Sox pitching amid the chaos of Wednesday's game, as they strive to find their rhythm and put together a string of wins. Tyler Austin slid into second base hard on a force out causing the benches to clear, but nothing happened as the players just conversed on the diamond.

Later, the Red Sox appeared to take retribution when Joe Kelly hit Austin with a 98-mph fastball.

The fight was on (above). Austin slid toward the base, but it might have been a late slide. Holt said he doesn't believe the Yankees will throw at him, hinting that if it does happen, NY will probably seek out one of Boston's middle-of-the-order bats. "I thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with that slide".

J.D. Martinez lifted Boston back into the game with a fifth inning grand slam off Masahiro Tanaka, but the Yankees already had eight runs at that point, and they scored two more the next inning. Austin carried over the bag, with his spikes clipping the right foot of Boston shortstop Brock Holt, and tempers flared.

Mayweather would finish 50-0 as a professional boxer, his last victory coming against McGregor on August 26, 2017. When Floyd Mayweather tries to take the moral high ground, you know you've made a serious mistake.

"I mean, I was ready to defend myself", Kelly said.

Austin said he felt like the pitch was intentional, according to MLB.com. "Someone comes on my property and in my backyard - I've got two dogs and if you come on my property and I feel like I was getting attacked then I'm going to have to defend myself". Tempers flare and guys get after it. Austin did seem to land a blow in the ensuing scrum on Boston third-base coach Carlos Febles. Kelly was replaced by pitcher Brian Johnson, and Shane Robinson replaced Austin.

The ejections were the first for either team in 2018.
