Here's what Verstappen had to say about Hamilton's criticism

Here's what Verstappen had to say about Hamilton's criticism

The opening two rounds of the 2018 F1 season have proved disappointing for Verstappen, with costly mistakes in Australia resulting in a sixth-place finish and a retirement in the third lap in Bahrain following a second-lap clash with Hamilton.

"I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable".

Verstappen took the criticism in his stride, telling Dutch television Monday night: "You are full of adrenaline when you have just stepped out of your vehicle".

"I just think for him, he's a young driver and is going to be learning all the time, he's got fantastic pace but, as youngsters, we do not always make the right decisions", said Hamilton, who is 13 years Verstappen's senior.

"Maybe I need to go and watch the manoeuvre again, but it didn't feel like a respectful manoeuvre".

Verstappen's Red Bull made contact with Hamilton's Mercedes when the Dutchman passed the world champion on the inside at Turn 1 on the second lap.

I was really close behind and there was a chance to overtake, so I thought it was a good opportunity. Daniel Ricciardo's race ended early too, Red Bull's woes compounded as his auto came to a halt and he was forced to retire.

Strowman entered himself into the tag team battle royal, winning the match and setting up a date with The Bar at WrestleMania . A match against John Cena has been planned for months and the legendary superstar has been training for it for a long time.

Verstappen crashed in qualifying in Bahrain on Saturday, blaming an unexpected power surge for the incident. If you look at it I was actually ahead for quite a period of time and then I accepted defeat and I just backed out because I knew he was going to try to run me wide.

"From Max's position Lewis should have conceded the corner, given up, and from Lewis's position he's saying Max gave him no room to work with".

Verstappen doesn't believe the move was risky after Hamilton criticised it, calling it "unnecessary" and "silly".

But to the surprise of the journalist, Vettel jumped to Hamilton's rescue asking if he could answer the question.

He also over-drove in the opening laps of the first race of the season trying to pass Kevin Magnussen's Haas, damaged his vehicle running off track and then spun, an incident that led to him finishing the race sixth rather than fourth. "There were things we could have done to make sure we came out ahead". As the Finn pulled away, he ran over Francesco Cigarini, who was out of his field of vision, leaving him with a broken tibia and fibula in his left leg. Cigarini was rushed to hospital, where he underwent a successful operation, while Raikkonen retired from the race.

"We were racing, which was all fine".

"It was hard racing", said the Red Bull boss.
