Trump touts Roseanne Barr's ratings after successful series premiere

Trump touts Roseanne Barr's ratings after successful series premiere

"It was a thrill to get a congratulatory phone call from The President of The United States of America", Barr tweeted Thursday, two days after ABC's "Roseanne" reboot drew an estimated 18.4 million viewers.

Although star Roseanne Barr was a Clinton supporter in real life during the show's original run, in recent years she's swung the other direction politically, supporting conservative and libertarian viewpoints (along with some conspiracy theories, including the murder of Seth Rich).

'Even look at Roseanne, I called her yesterday. her ratings, look at her ratings. It premiered Tuesday on ABC to a whopping 18.2 million viewers.

Barr said that direction was her idea.

"We just kind of had a private conversation, but we talked about a lot of things", the actress said.

'But they haven't figured it out, and when they will, they'll become much less fake'. She said, "I've known him for many years and he's done a lot of nice things for me over the years".

HR Prompts Media to Add Missing Ahed Tamimi Info
Her mother was arrested on the same day for streaming the incident live on Facebook, and therefore charged with incitement. Tamimi was arrested in December after video surfaced of her kicking the soldiers outside her West Bank home.

"They were unbelievable", Trump said.

The stellar viewership apparently impressed Trump, whose call made Barr's day.

The Conner family returned to the small screen last night with the beloved US sitcom Roseanne airing the first episode of its revival and proving to be a huge ratings success for ABC.

Addressing the International Union of Operating Engineers in Richfield, Oh., where he is making a speech on infrastructure, the president told of his excitement after the Trump-supporting comedienne's sitcom comeback garnered huge ratings. Donald Trump, the president's son, tweeted "Wow wonderful".

During a Q&A session with television critics earlier this year, Barr said, "It was working-class people who elected Trump". In interviews promoting the revival, she has said she has "no regrets" about her vote. "I really do because I think we need to be more civilized than that".
