Pak calls home its envoy in India for consultations over harassment: FO

The FO claimed photographs identifying individuals involved in harassment had been submitted to the Indian External Affairs Ministry.

In his first comments since the current crisis broke out, Mahmood - who came to India in August previous year - told The Indian Express on Wednesday, "Through painstaking efforts over the past several months, we twice managed to ease tensions somewhat and began making progress on some of the tracks, including on humanitarian issues".

Pakistan has called back its High Commissioner in New Delhi, Sohail Mahmood, for consultation to Islamabad over incidents of "harassing" of its Embassy's staff in the Indian capital, the Foreign Office stated on Thursday. In 2016 India declared Pakistan High Commission employee Mehmood Akhtar persona non grata for "anti-India activities".

Asked whether India too proposed to call its envoy in Islamabad to New Delhi for consultations on the issue, the spokesperson said it would be done whenever the government felt the need to do so.

The MEA added: "As you know, our high commission is facing a litany of issues which have not been resolved for several months". We, of course, have no comments to offer on the news reports regarding the Pakistan High Commissioner, " he added.

Islamabad has listed around half a dozen specific instances of alleged harassment of diplomatic staff and their families, including children being threatened, over the past eight days, while New Delhi said its diplomats had been routinely harassed over the past eight months. He said India should not drag Pakistan in its electoral politics.

He did a lot of really good things. "He needs to go home and self-evaluate and clean his own house". And in the deal, they'll be shipping 2017 second-round pick DeShone Kizer to Green Bay.

In a statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office, it accused the Indian government of failing to provide a secure environment to its diplomats deployed in the country.

The Pakistan foreign ministry, meanwhile, lashed out at India over the row, saying: "The deliberate bullying is not confined to a single isolated event, but continues unabated in a series of incidents".

He told that Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner's vehicle carrying his children was stopped for 40 minutes.

Raveesh Kumar, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs, India, in a press conference said, "We take note of their concerns".

In a demarche to the Indian high commission in Islamabad and the external affairs ministry in Delhi, Pakistan has raised serious reservations and concerns over the safety and security of its staffers and their families in India, threatening to pull out the families if the alleged coercion did not stop.
