Mavs Owner Mark Cuban Denies 2011 Sexual Assault Allegation

Dallas Mavericks owner and tech billionaire Mark Cuban has denied a sexual assault allegation from 2011 that resurfaced this week in a report by Willamette Week, a weekly alternative newspaper in Portland, Ore.

Prosecutors declined to purse the case due to lack of evidence.

"It didn't happen", Cuban wrote in an email to The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Late Tuesday, the Portland-based Willamette Week reported an April 2011 incident in which Cuban allegedly thrust his hand down the back of a woman's trousers while posing for a photograph, according to a police report later obtained by WFAA.

"These allegations are thoroughly investigated by the Multnomah County District's Attorney's Office and the Portland Police Bureau", Houze said in the statement. She told the newspaper she never sought media attention or money from Cuban and has moved on from the incident. "I stand behind that report 1,000 percent".

The woman reported that she was assaulted by Cuban as the two posed together for a photogragh. He also voluntarily passed a polygraph test, according to the report. The couple met Cuban at a dueling piano bar called the Barrel Room, and the boyfriend urged the woman, who isn't identified in the story, to take a photo with Cuban.

The report also said the woman didn't want to proceed with the allegation.

"I really left it in the past", she told Jaquiss. "In one of the pictures, his arm can be seen behind [the alleged victim] and it appears Cuban is reaching down toward her buttocks".

The allegations come only two weeks after the Mavs became embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal.

The report included claims of inappropriate sexual conduct by former CEO Terdema Ussery and raised questions about what Cuban knew and when. Sneed has reportedly been fired since the publication of Sports Illustrated's report.
