Leicester ace Mahrez admits Man City transfer frustration

Leicester ace Mahrez admits Man City transfer frustration

Mahrez admitted to "regrets" over the saga but said he now wants to put it behind him.

"In football players come, players leave, I'm not saying I'm coming or going", he added.

"We will talk between me and the club".

"First, it will be bring more rumours and more talk".

But when the transfer failed to materialise, Mahrez missed training for over a week and was absent from several matchday squads.

"My mind and my focus is on Leicester", he said.

Mahrez has so far bagged nine goals in 27 Premier League appearances this term. That's all I'm focused on.

Leicester have failed to win any of their past five Premier League games since Mahrez's proposed move to City fell through, but coach Claude Puel has insisted the skilful winger conducted himself professionally throughout.

Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez appears to have announced a break from football.

"But it's the past and I really don't want to talk about this". It's behind me. If we start talking about this, it's like coming back to this transfer window.

Ichiro close to signing a deal to return to the Mariners
Surefire Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki is finalizing a one-year deal to return to Seattle, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale. Outfielder Guillermo Heredia is also still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, leaving Seattle thin at the position.

Mahrez accepts he did not deal with his rejected move as well as he would have hoped and thanked his teammates for welcoming him back with no recriminations.

"I was away from here because I needed some time to think, it was a hard situation", Mahrez told Sky Sports.

"We will see with Riyad, he is with Leicester, he is finding a good level", the Frenchman said on Thursday afternoon. "You will be always in my heart".

Off The Ball has contacted Leicester City for comment and are awaiting the club's response.

"To be honest the club handled it very good as well". It was up to me to keep him here for the club, and for me to try to sort it out, protect Riyad and the club.

Leicester ran a feature on Mahrez on their website on Wednesday looking at the impact of the player this season, suggesting the Facebook post was a hoax. Everyone was okay, everyone was good. We've moved on now.

"I spoke with the players, I spoke with the manager, I spoke with everyone".

"After the last consultation with many doctors, I've made a decision to stay away from football", the Facebook post said.

"It won't affect me so I don't know why they tried to do that. I think everyone knew it had been hacked".
