Kremlin says response to Britain could come 'any minute'

Kremlin says response to Britain could come 'any minute'

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov todays said statements by British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson tying Russian President Vladimir Putin to the attack on an ex-double agent were "shocking and unforgiveable".

As the global scandal gathers pace, Skripal and his daughter remain in critical condition after exposure to the Soviet-designed chemical Novichok on March 4 in the southwestern English city of Salisbury.

However, the Kremlin denounced Johnson's claim that Putin ordered the attack.

He said "our quarrel is with Putin's Kremlin, and with his decision, and we think it overwhelmingly likely that it was his decision to direct the use of a nerve agent on the streets of the United Kingdom, on the streets of Europe, for the first time since the Second World War".

"That is why we are at odds with Russian Federation".

Prime Minister Theresa May announced this week that 23 Russian diplomats would be expelled from Britain after concluding it was highly probable that Moscow was behind the poisoning, but she stopped short of pointing the finger directly at Putin. Johnson also said that London had nothing against the Russian people, "we do not get along with Putin and the Kremlin", he added.

Dmitry Peskov, Putin's spokesman, responded to Bloomberg over text message: "We have said on different levels and occasions that Russian Federation has nothing to do with this story".

Moscow will expel British diplomats in response to London's move to kick out 23 Russian officials over the poisoning of ex-double agent Sergei Skripal, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday. Using a military-grade nerve agent in the Salisbury incident "further demonstrates the reckless and irresponsible conduct of its [Russia's] government", the USA said.

Browns to acquire CB Damarious Randall

On Friday, Russia's Investigative Committee said it had launched its own criminal proceedings in connection with the "attempted murder of a Russian citizen, Yulia Skripal" in Salisbury and what it called the "murder" of Nikolai Glushkov in London.

Russian Federation has demanded that Britain share samples collected by investigators.

Mirzayanov revealed details of Russia's chemical weapons in the 1990s because he said he was afraid of their impact.

Russia's Defence Ministry said he was an "intellectual impotent" and Lavrov said he probably lacked education.

"That does not mean we should resign ourselves to a "new Cold War" of escalating arms spending, proxy conflicts across the globe and a McCarthyite intolerance of dissent", he said. The two are still undergoing treatment to recover from the deadly Russian nerve agent.

British Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, sparked particular outrage in Moscow with his blunt comment on Thursday that "Russia should go away, it should shut up".

The Kremlin has repeatedly denied any involvement in the killing.

Corbyn added that Labour did not support Putin and that Russian Federation should be held to account if it was behind the attack.
