Trump promises 'ATTACKS WOULD END' if teachers armed

Trump promises 'ATTACKS WOULD END' if teachers armed

US President Donald Trump was photographed during a Wednesday White House session with the survivors of a Florida high school mass shooting holding handwritten notes bearing his message to the families "I hear you".

Briefing notes captured by photographers at U.S. president Donald Trump's White House listening session with survivors of gun violence show that he needed to be reminded to say "I hear you".

Mr Trump initially raised the idea of arming teachers during an emotional, hour-long discussion with people affected by school shootings on Thursday at the White House.

The President unveiled his plans a day after holding a listening meeting with survivors of the Parkland school shooting, where he also appeared to back arming a fifth of teachers.

Trump said he'd prefer a "hardened school" where teachers with training or a military background carry weapons.

"It only works where you have people very adept at using firearms", Trump said.

"This would be obviously only for people who were very adept at handling a gun, and it would be, it's called concealed carry, where a teacher would have a concealed gun on them".

Trump said he would meet with numerous country's governors next week to discuss school safety.

It also unleashed its most powerful nuclear blast to date in September, in what it claimed was a test of a thermonuclear weapon. Both the South and North appear to be tip-toeing around these issues during the period of the Pyeongchang Olympics, he said.

Netanyahu rejects calls to step down
Lapid, who also called on Netanyahu to step down, was finance minister at the time one of the allegations took place. Colette Avital, a former MP for the left-wing Labour party, told AFP the march was about more than just Netanyahu.

Cruz was a former student and was expelled from the high school for disciplinary reasons.

Ashley Kurth, a Republican teacher who protected more than 60 people in her classroom, questioned Rubio about Trump's proposal to arm teachers.

"You won't have, in my opinion, you won't have these shooters because these people are cowards", he said.

Upon closer review, however, something arguably more dumbfounding than the president's suggestion that handguns become a teacher supply was what he held in his hand as he put forth that idea.

"Their goal is to eliminate the Second Amendment and our firearms freedoms so they can eradicate all individual freedoms", LaPierre said, speaking at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference to an audience that typically bristles at the notion of restricting Second Amendment rights.

"I don't believe teachers should be armed - I believe teachers should teach", Israel said.

Democrats are calling on lawmakers to enact a ban on semi-automatic weapons that have been fashioned to fire more rapidly, like the AR-15 that was used to kill 17 students at a high school in Florida last week. "We protect airports, we protect concerts, stadiums, embassies, the Department of Education that I walked in today that has a security guard in the elevator".

Down the bottom of the card, the fifth instruction was clearly visible, simply saying "I hear you". Frankly, they'd feel more comfortable having the gun anyway, but you give them a little bit of a bonus.
