Texas police officer shot and killed in suburban Dallas apartment complex

The officer was responding to a shooting call about 8 p.m.at an apartment complex near E. Renner and North Star roads when wounded, according to a report by WFAA.

Brandon McCall, 26, has been charged with capital murder of a peace officer.

"We have so many officers that were involved in the incident last night that we felt like it would be better to let Plano handle this investigation for us and they've begun the investigation", he said. Walker was the first Little Elm officer to die in the line of duty.

Police have not released the name of the officer who died or the suspect.
