Team USA to reveal Pyeongchang 2018 ice hockey teams

Team USA to reveal Pyeongchang 2018 ice hockey teams

Team USA will be competing in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games from February 11-22, 2018 with 11 other countries. He is the only skater on this year's team that has any Olympic experience.

For the first time since 1994, active National Hockey League players will not be allowed to participate in the games. So the US roster is mostly comprised of Americans playing professionally overseas. The OAR team could be the heavy favorite in the tournament, but the KHL hasn't announced whether it will send players yet and the IIHF said it will determine the status of the OAR hockey teams by January 27.

The only U.S. Olympic team with more Yale representation was the 1932 team, which featured five former Bulldogs: Franklin "Tot" Farrell, John Cookman, Frank Nelson, John Bent and Ding Palmer. It's generally expected that they will send a team to Pyeongchang. The crop of Eagles is headlined by freshman Cayla Barnes, who was added to the national team in late October, and juniors Megan Keller and Kali Flanagan, who opted to take a year off from the program to train with U.S.A. Hockey back in May.

Bozek played in four world championships and was one of the top defensemen at the 2014 Olympics, making the all-tournament team after contributing four assists and a goal. That season, he also had a career-best 89 points.

Tune in tomorrow for President Buhari's New Year Address
The presidency on Saturday tried to explain the inclusion of the dead persons, saying the list was compiled in 2015. He said this in reaction to the outcry over the inclusion of at least four dead persons in the list of appointees.

While teams representing the United States have been a "who's who" of hockey in recent years, the 2018 roster will feature a roster of "who's that?" more than anything.

Greenwich's Sean Backman, a 2010 Yale graduate playing in the German pro league, was on the USA roster for the Deutschland Cup but did not make the final cut. He was a All-NCHC Rookie Team selection in the 2015-16 season, and selected on the 2017 All-NCHC Academic team.

Little, now living in Phoenix, was a second-team All-American in 2010 and graduated as Yale's seventh all-time leading scorer with 143 points. Since 1998, the USA has won three silver medals (2002, 2010, 2014) and one bronze medal (2006).
