Snow starting to fall, Winter Weather Advisories in effect through Thursday morning

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory that's in effect from noon until 8 p.m. for most of MA and Rhode Island. Less than an inch of snow is expected.

Every time MI sees a snowstorm barrel across the state, National Weather Service teams from Marquette to Detroit are quick to invite residents to send in their own snow measurements.

The expected snowfall is the result of a storm system centered over IN that will track eastward before heading out to sea Thursday morning. "Some slick roads and treacherous travel can be expected should the snow materialize as now forecast".

New Yorkers woke up to a layer of snow Thursday morning, and the wintery weather is expected to last through the morning commute, the National Weather Service said. Low around 22. There will be a 20 percent chance or snow at night.
