Google Assistant for Android 5.0 Lollipop Smartphones and Android Tablets Coming Soon

Additionally, Google has announced that it will be rolling out the Assistant to even more phones than before, now looping in Android Lollipop users for the fun. While Android fragmentation has caused clamour for users to wait for the latest update to roll out, Google's plan to bring Assistant to older devices could be in works. Other regions receiving the update include Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Korea.

"Once you get the update and opt-in, you'll see an Assistant app icon in your "All apps" list", Mukha wrote. Older phone owners were stuck with upgrading or going Assistant-less. The Assistant for tablets will first be rolling out to the United States users with English as the default language.
