Apple to bring a fix to the freezing iPhone X screen

Reddit user darus214 revealed the issue in a thread this week, writing: 'I've noticed that my iPhone X screen becomes very unresponsive as soon as I step outside.

Apple said in a statement that the issue will be addressed in a future software update.

So far, the only iPhone X problems that we are aware of are potential OLED burn-ins, which Apple already warned users about, and screen issues when used in cold weather. Some also came up with a possible explanation saying that the effect that light had on infrared camera and light sensor for FaceID authentication on the front may be the reason behind it. Others have floated the idea that most iOS device screens are unresponsive outside Apple's recommended temperature range of between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and that it's most pronounced on a device with a physical home button. According to a report, it appears that when the smartphone is exposed to colder weather it renders the touchscreen unresponsive.

The problem is not common, and only a few users have reported the issue. Apple notes that "Low or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature".

Ilham Aliyev: Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship, brotherhood play stabilizing role in region
A railway connecting Gyumri, Armenia, and Kars in Turkey is another victim of the long freeze in Turkish-Armenian ties. An official welcoming ceremony has been held for Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baku today.

Apple issued iOS 11.1.1 this week, promising issues including the weird "i" autocorrect, which changed the letter to an A and a question mark symbol.

One user noted that it was about 45 degrees F when they experienced the problem.

To install the new update, open your iPhone or iPad's settings menu, tap General, and choose "Software Update". Apple had previously fixed the issue in the iOS 11.2 beta, but it looks like the bug became widespread enough that Apple pushed it out before that larger update.
