India v New Zealand

India v New Zealand

According to a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source, the pitch curator will be suspended by Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) president Abhay Apte.

Tight bowling and fifties from Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik helped India secure a series-levelling six-wickets victory against New Zealand in the second one-day worldwide on Wednesday.

The second ODI between India and New Zealand at MCA Stadium in Pune is less than an hour away from now, but it has already been shrouded with controversy.

India Today TV showed Salgaonkar allegedly telling their undercover reporters, who posed as bookies, he could manipulate the pitch and sharing information about the playing surface in violation of ICC's anti-corruption code.

The attack in Germany: police arrested a suspect
Police believe the perpetrator, who appeared to randomly target people at several different locations, acted alone. The authorities previously said they had deployed "all available police forces" to search for the attacker.

Incidentally, curator Pandurang Salgaoncar spoke to Cricketnext on Tuesday and said that he is confident of avoiding a similar fate this time as India play New Zealand in the second ODI on Wednesday.

As soon as the sensational news broke out, the chances of the 2nd ODI between India and New Zealand getting called off have increased significantly. I do not have first-hand reaction yet but there should be an enquiry. As per reports, BCCI in reply to the clustering corruption allegations has stated that they have taken cognizance of the matter and are further investigating the matter.

BCCI joint secretary Amitabh Chaudhary added:"The BCCI has zero tolerance on such issues. The BCCI will continue to enforce strict measures in case of such misconduct in the future".

New Zealand, who clinched the first one-dayer in Mumbai by six wickets, won the toss and elected to bat, but lost the match by six wickets, with the hosts levelling the three match series at one-all.
