Pakistan firing kills BSF trooper in J&K

A BSF jawan was killed in firing by Pakistan in Arnia area of RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. "BSF troopers are retaliating strongly and effectively", BSF sources were quoted as saying by the IANS news agency. India's Border Security Force (BSF) said that Pakistani soldiers fired at several positions along the volatile worldwide border. A BSF man sustained bullet injuries in abdomen in the Pakistani troops firing.

The deceased BSF man was identified as constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh of 192 battalion. The crossfire continued from midnight till the morning hours of Friday.

Bahadur, 32, hailed from Vidya Bhawan Naraypur village in Uttar Pradesh's Balia district.
