Google Assistant is making its way to third-party speakers and appliances

Google Assistant is making its way to third-party speakers and appliances

With most smart speakers now supporting the same small number of voice assistants, the race is on to find points of differentiation. At CES earlier this year, Amazon Alexa was in so many connected devices that it truly stole the show and many are hoping Google's solution will have similar results.

Google highlighted three speakers that will carry Google Assistant: the Zolo Mojo from popular accessories maker Anker, the TicHome Mini from Chinese manufacturer Mobvoi, and Panasonic's SC-GA10. The company announced several new third-party products that either have Google Assistant built in, so you can talk to them like Google Home, or that work with Google Assistant, so you can control them with voice commands. The Mountain View California-based tech giant at its I/O keynote announced that its Google Assistant will be available on iOS.

LG Electronics (LG) continues to work earnestly behind the scenes to expand its smart home partnership strategy to work with as many different smart platforms and services as possible.

Google this week is announcing a series of partners who are bringing its Google Assistant technology to their smart speakers. Say "OK Google, start vacuuming", and your LG robot vacuum will fire up and start cleaning your floors. Essentially, if you love Google Assistant on your phone and wanted a speaker packing the software, you suddenly have four devices instead of just one.

Beckham, a former LSU star, suffered the ankle injury on a questionable hit by Cleveland defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun. WR Tavarres King reinjured an ankle Monday night and CB Michael Hunter is in the concussion protocol.

LG separately announced on Wednesday that all its 2017 Wi-Fi-enabled smart home appliances now support Google Assistant, and alongside the previously introduced support for Amazon's Alexa voice assistant.

While others have hedged their bets as to which intelligent AI will come out ahead by supporting both of them, Panasonic has come out firmly in favor of team Google. "Ok Google, are my clothes clean?" or "is the laundry done?"

Next in line is Panasonic's speaker GA10, which comes with two 20mm dome tweeters, 8cm woofer with a dual voice coil, and Bluetooth. "Getting help around the house will be easier than ever". What you share with the Assistant is up to you, "and the more you use it, the more useful it gets".
