USA to take dream of inspecting Iran's military sites to grave

Iran on Tuesday dismissed as "dreams" the idea that it might allow inspections of its military sites under the Islamic republic's nuclear deal with world powers.

Before Rohani spoke on August 29, Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht told a news conference in Tehran that "Iran's military sites are off limits".

A senior military adviser to Iran's supreme leader said on Sunday that inspecting Iranian military sites under the pretext of the worldwide nuclear deal is "impossible", TV reports said on Monday.

The U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Nikky Haley, met last week with the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss Washington's request to expand the agency's inspections to restricted military sites in Iran, a move that has been with outrage by Iranian leaders.

In a message aimed at US President Donald Trump, who has ordered a review of the lifting of sanctions on Iran after the agreement and called it "the worst deal ever negotiated", Macron told French ambassadors that the accord was good, Reuters reported.

"We are encouraging the IAEA to use all the authorities they have and to pursue every angle possible with the JCPOA, and we will continue to support the IAEA in that process", she said.

The body is responsible for verifying Iran's compliance under the agreement. Bolton has long said the deal, which limited Tehran's ability to produce nuclear material in exchange for sanctions relief, will not prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons as intended, but will facilitate it. The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, said over the weekend that if the US withdraws from the deal but the other parties to the JCPOA (i.e. Russia, China, France, the UK, Germany, and the EU) remain committed, that Iran will remain committed to the deal as well. But The Guardian also quotes David Albright of the Institute for Science and International Security as disputing this comparison and noting that "the Obama administration downplayed and even hid violations and problems", leaving serious questions open about the true extent of Iranian compliance.

And later: "The world moves on / Another day another drama, drama / But not for me, not for me / All I think about is karma". Instagram created it after the singer's feud with the Kardashian-Wests a year ago over Kanye West's song Famous .

Rouhani, who was inaugurated to serve a second term earlier this month, said on Tuesday that the US lacked any backing from the other signatories for its hostile stance toward the deal, and that the Trump administration faced "the most hard circumstances" in trying to upend it.

"We are sure that the IAEA is aware of regulations on its behavior as an worldwide body and will not let its independence and status be undermined by the USA pressures", Zarif was quoted as saying.

It's not a treaty because it was never considered by the U.S. Senate, and so can be changed by a president's decision.

Haley has previously said that Iran is not complying with the "spirit" of the deal, pointing to Tehran's activities in the region, including its support for Houthi rebels in Yemen and its backing of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

If Trump declares Tehran in breach of the nuclear agreement, Washington must be prepared to go it alone, because Iran, and its oil industry, will fight a USA snapback of sanctions and can rely on its European and Asian oil customers to back it up.

In April, roughly four months after being seated as president by a minority electoral-college, Trump authorized a review to determine if the nuclear sanctions suspension under Obama would serve the interests of the United States.
