Fox News accused of working with Trump administration on Seth Rich conspiracy

It's unclear whether that last call was recorded, but Wheeler's lawsuit does include emails from Butowsky to Fox News producers and hosts, such as the Fox & Friends team, pushing a White House agenda, coaching them on how to frame the Seth Rich story as proof that "the Russians did not hack our computer systems and ste [a] l emails and there was no collusion" between "Trump and the Russians".

NPR reported on August 1 on a defamation lawsuit filed by Fox News contributor Rod Wheeler against 21st Century Fox, Fox News, Fox News reporter Malia Zimmerman, and frequent Fox guest Ed Butowsky. The Fox story was retracted after its claims of a connection between Rich and the DNC leaks - mainly backed by quotes from Wheeler that he now claims he didn't say - came under fire for lack of evidence. They' theorized that Rich was murdered because he had tried to leak DNC emails to Wikileaks that would damage Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign. It is also important to point out that the plaintiff, Rod Wheeler, clearly said things about the Rich investigation which he knew to be false (and therefore is not a highly credible person) and that his claims are perfectly created to take advantage of a narrative which the news media would be obviously very willing to embrace. Both begin with "my investigation" and one says "there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and Wikileaks".

Wheeler's suit may indeed be a moneymaking scheme, as Butowsky now claims as he denies it all. "According to Butowsky, the statements were falsely attributed to Mr. Wheeler because that is the way the President wanted the article".

Rich, 27, was shot to death July 10, 2016 in what Washington police say was a random robbery attempt. He wants the article out immediately.

A new bombshell lawsuit filed Tuesday alleges the Trump administration encouraged Fox News to create a fake news story concerning the death of Seth Rich, the former Democratic National Convention staffer who was murdered in July 2016, in order to divert attention away from the Russian Federation scandal.

Butowsky, a wealth management consultant who has appeared on Fox, denied having any dealings with the president whatsoever.

During an appearance on Alex Jones' conspiracy theory program, Stone said that officials he has spoken to at the White House are calling the lawsuit "bogus" and that he thinks the lawsuit will be dismissed "summarily". "I'm actually the one who's been putting this together but as you know I keep my name out of things because I have no credibility".

International Champions Cup: Bayern in Singapore beat Chelsea
Boga had a decent chance to pull a goal back after being set up by Cesc Fabregas but was denied by veteran keeper Tom Starke. Results of course don't really matter in pre-season, but just as it's much nicer to win, it's not almost as nice to lose.

Three Israelis Killed In West Bank Terror Home Invasion
The announcement followed days of violent clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinians in the vicinity of the mosque. Just hours later, three Israelis were stabbed to death in the Jewish settlement of Neve Tsuf in the Israel-occupied West Bank.

Butowsky told CNN that his message about the president reading the article was a joke. Butowsky said "the lawsuit is bullshit" and Wheeler's lawyer "pulled this out of his butt to make money".

February 23 - Butowsky allegedly texts Wheeler to pitch him on pursuing the Rich investigation. Wheeler has been contributing to Fox News for more than a decade, even through this weekend.

"It had nothing to do with advancing the president's domestic agenda - and there was no agenda", Spicer told Folkenflik.

"I don't - I'm not aware of - generally, I don't get updates on DNC - former DNC staffers", Spicer said at a May 16 press briefing. "The president had no knowledge of the story and it is completely untrue that there was White House involvement", she said. Fox News later retracted the article, saying it didn't meet its "standards".

"The accusation that FoxNews.com published Malia Zimmerman's story to help detract from coverage of the Russian Federation collusion issue is completely erroneous", Fox News President of News Jay Wallace said in an emailed statement.

Jay Wallace the president of news at Fox News, dismissed Wheeler's claims in a statement. Butowsky allegedly pointed the finger at the White House.

He and and the other Fox contributor-a Texas investor named Ed Butowsky-met with then-White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on April 20 to talk about what they'd found. Spicer confirmed the meeting to NPR. "The retraction of this story is being investigated internally and we have no evidence that Wheeler was misquoted by Zimmerman".
