Umbrella-sharing company reports almost 300000 stolen

Umbrella-sharing company reports almost 300000 stolen

Just under three months after launch, China-based E Umbrella has reportedly lost nearly all of its 300,000 umbrellas available to rent across 11 Chinese cities. The Guardian suggests the fault lies with the company's founders: While a would-be umbrella user must pay a roughly $2.80 deposit and about $0.07 per half-hour of use, the paper reports no additional penalty is levied for failing to return an umbrella.

Each lost umbrella reportedly costs the company 60 yuan, approximately 550 rupees, to replace.

According to the South China Morning Post, company CEO Zhao Shuping said that the idea came to him after watching bike-sharing schemes take off across China, making him realize that "everything on the street can now be shared". He said the process is being retooled and he expects to expand the business to 30 million umbrellas made available at locations across China by the end of the year.

"We were really impressed by the bike-sharing model", he added. "Bikes can be parked anywhere, but with an umbrella you need railings or a fence to hang it on".

The company, Sharing E Umbrella, launched a scheme similar to public bike-sharing models in which people can rent and return umbrellas at their leisure.

CDPH Releases Annual End of Life Option Act Report
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released the 2016 End of Life Option Act (Act) first Annual Report. The law also states that doctors themselves should not prescribe the drug to them until n unless patients demand it.

Despite the expensive teething problems, the company is still hoping to offer 30 million umbrellas across the country by the end of the year.

But he may have overestimated people's honesty - or even their ability to simply do not forget to give them back.

Umbrella renting schemes aren't the only sharing businesses suffering from problems with theft in China.

Manchester and Salford will be the first cities outside Asia to play host to the cycle sharing scheme as part of a trial which will last around six months, reports the Manchester Evening News.

While Sharing E Umbrella gave out their umbrellas at train and bus stops, they also deduced the safest place for users to temporarily store their umbrellas would be in their homes.
