Manchester City flop completes Sevilla switch

Manchester City forward Nolito arrived on Sunday in Spain to undergo a medical and sign a three-year contract with Spanish football lub Sevilla.

Nolito is now expected to sign his Sevilla contract and then head off to Japan on preseason with the Spanish club.

Nolito, a Spain worldwide of 16 caps and six goals, joined City from Celta Vigo for £13.8m just 12 months ago but the Premier League side have cut their losses. Players like Sane and Sterling were prefered to Nolito, resulting in the ex-Celta Vigo player earning just under 800 minutes the whole season. However, he went on to make only nine league starts in total and none of those were in 2017.

Geraint Thomas out of Tour de France with suspected broken collarbone
Colombian Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac) won Sunday's dramatic stage, a 181.5-kilometre route from Nantua to Chambéry . Twice former victor Alberto Contador was one of the big losers on the day from the 181.5km stage from Nantua to Chambery.

The deal caps a good week for Sevilla, after also capturing Colombian forward Luis Muriel from Sampdoria on Tuesday. A fourth place finish for Sevilla last season means they will need all the help and experience they can get if they are to qualify for the Champions League group stage.

Nolito's move to Sevilla will see him reunited with Eduardo Berizzo, his former coach at Celta who oversaw his two best campaigns between 2014 and 2016, leading to his first call-up for Spain in 2014.
