Bethesda is rebooting DOOM's multiplayer, all DLC now free

For a start, the game's season pass has now been retired, with all paid DLC now available free for all. The content now available for all includes "nine of our best maps, three additional guns, three additional playable demons, new equipment, armour sets and more".

The multiplayer update will reset players' multiplayer level as the game transitions from a random unlock system to a Call of Duty-esque progression. All of those players will also get a special badge that will recognize them as those who have experienced the game in the previous system. Furthermore, players will notice new gameplay.id Software has implemented new Runes in place of Hack Modules. The free weekend includes unlimited access to multiplayer and SnapMap, and it will let players try out the first two levels of the campaign.

The post also noted that the price of DOOM would be dropped to $17.99. Gamers will have the option to completely reset their unlocked progression items and experience the new progression system fresh or retain the unlocks they have acquired or purchased and then unlock the remaining items through the revised progression system. Players will get to unlock items through specific leveling requirements and through some challenges. We'd encourage giving the game a shot and maybe even picking it up while you don't have to sell your soul for a copy. The full 6.66 update patch notes, and an FAQ about the changes, are here.

The main highlight of update 6.66 is the revised multiplayer progressions system, which now makes it easier to work towards specific items you want.

Do veteran players receive anything after the update? Runes won't need to be activated and they don't expire. Runes are persistent capabilities (or perks) that become a consistent and predictable component of your loadout and play style, ' Stratton explained.

Drowning Family Saved by 80-Person Human Chain in Florida
Some of the people involved in a dramatic human chain that was formed to save a Florida family from drowning Monday have reunited. The Washington Post reported she awoke on the beach to the sounds of screams coming from the water - it was her mother.

Today Bethesda is rolling out a change that will please players with a tight grip on their wallet but may rile up those that already purchased the game and its DLC.

The release shooter Doom took place in may 2016 on PC, Xbox One, PS4.

If you never jumped into it, DOOM on the multiplayer front was actually pretty fun I reckon.

"Game publisher #Bethesda has recently announced that "#Doom" has launched #Update 6.66 and it will unlock all DLCs, free weekends, and much more.
