Andy Murray Has A Hip Issue Ahead Of His Wimbledon Title Defense

Should he play, the two-time Wimbledon champion would be set for a heavily challenging campaign at The Championships.

Defending champion Andy Murray's troubled build-up to Wimbledon continued yesterday as he withdrew from playing an exhibition tennis match because of a hip problem.

The Briton is still expected to begin the defence of his Wimbledon title on Monday, but will be short of practice heading into the Championships. Practice has gone well, " was Lendl's response when asked whether he is anxious about the number one tennis player. "He was hitting two days ago with Dimitrov and hitting the ball great".

Murray was due to take on Frenchman Lucas Pouille in the tournament in the first match, however, on Tuesday morning it was announced that he would not take to the court because his hip was "a bit sore", leaving his fans tensed. "I'm very pleased with the two weeks we had", said Lendl, who explained that Murray had practised with Denis Shapovalov and Grigor Dimitrov at the start of the week.

Trump calls decision national security victory
His administration has made an emergency request asking for the ban to go into effect while the litigation continues. President Reagan's original choice to take Powell's place was conservative federal appeals court judge Robert Bork.

Murray was beaten by world No90 Jordan Thompson of Australia, who was only drafted in a matter of hours before the tie following the late withdrawal of Aljaz Bedene through injury.

World No.3 Stan Wawrinka - overwhelmed by Nadal in the French Open final - has never reached the last four at Wimbledon and hence he has been seeded fifth.

However, his coach Lendl insists he is "not at all" anxious about the injury and has been pleased by Murray's preparations for Wimbledon.

"Andy has been unlucky with a few illnesses [this year] and an elbow injury, and that doesn't help if you don't have as much time to practice or as many matches as you would like".
