Texas mother charged in deaths of toddlers left in hot auto

Texas mother charged in deaths of toddlers left in hot auto

She is charged with two first-degree felony counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Parker County Sheriff's Department investigators arrested Cynthia Randolph after admitting that she left her kids in the auto to "teach them a lesson".

Authorities say she told them she left the children in the auto, smoked marijuana and went to sleep. It wasn't clear if she had an attorney - online jail records didn't list one for her - and she doesn't have a listed phone number.

Be Civil - It's OK to have a difference in opinion but there's no need to be a jerk. "The defendant said that she broke the vehicle window to make it look like an accident".

Those children died last month.

Friends and family say a pregnant woman fatally shot this week by Seattle police loved to sing and dance and adored her children.

Investigator say Randolph finally confessed to first finding the kids playing in the vehicle.

Both kids were pronounced dead at about 4:30 p.m., according to FOX4.

In multiple interviews, officials say Randolph created several variations of the events.

Parker County Sheriff's Capt. Mark Arnett told CNN that according to the mother, the children were playing in a back room of their home when they disappeared.

Police were called to her home near Lake Weatherford on May 26 where Randolph told police she found her two kids unresponsive after being locked inside a vehicle.

She told responders she'd been folding laundry while her children played outside. The Tarrant County medical examiner's office has not yet ruled on the manner and cause of each child's death. She took a nap lasting two to three hours, before she went back outside to check on her children.

The group advises parents to put something they will need by their child's auto seat - a purse, wallet or phone, for example - as an additional reminder to check the back.
