Palestinians say Gaza man killed at protest on Gaza border

Palestinians say Gaza man killed at protest on Gaza border

According to the report, the list was preliminary and the goal of Qatar's request was to shore up USA support for Qatar in case of an escalation in the crisis between Qatar and Saudi Arabia and the Qatari fear that Saudi Arabia will support a coup in Qatar against the current leader, Sheikh Tamim Althani. He said in Berlin he is seeking a response "soon".

The incident took place after the soldiers fired many live rounds at Palestinians protesting on their lands, close to the border fence, in Khuza'a town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the coastal region.

Reports in Arab media said Qatar planned to expel several Hamas officials, including Saleh al-Aruri, who is believed to be the leader of Hamas in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and who was previously kicked out of Turkey. The mere prospect of losing Qatari support prompted Hamas on Wednesday to issue rare criticism of Saudi Arabia, which has been leading the campaign against its tiny Gulf neighbour.

Qatar is among the biggest contributors of aid to the territory ruled by the Islamic group Hamas.

Despite Hamas' designation as a terrorist organisation as by the United States, Malaysia has hosted and supported Hamas leaders at political events. Qatar has denied the allegations.

"In Riyadh, Trump lumped Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic State and al Qaeda together and this was perceived as giving a green light to [the Arab states] to go the extra step against the Moslem Brotherhood and Hamas and its primary sponsor Qatar", he said. "They established a shadow government and they attack us and Abbas".

The ministry quoted UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif al-Shamsi making the warning, saying it came over Qatar's "hostile and reckless policy".

He was also criticised on his record on defence. "The only way they can be sure their taxes won't rise is to vote Conservative". Labour said Fallon's comments showed the Conservatives were protecting higher earners at the expense of the less well off.

United States unemployment rate dips to 4.3 percent
The U.S. economy added 138,000 jobs last month, less than the 174,000 jobs gained in April and lower than expected. The leisure and hospitality industry added 31,000 net new jobs in May, down from 58,000 the previous month.

Saudi Arabia, along with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, have cut ties with Qatar and moved to isolate the Gulf nation, accusing it of harboring extremists.

Qatar has always been accused of funding worldwide terror groups as a defense strategy, essentially paying "protection" money to global terror groups in order to ensure that they are not attacked, former IDF General and National Security Advisor Yaakov Amidror said on Army Radio. It said Qatar is "promoting extremist thoughts and spreading chaos and disturbances across numerous Arab countries, resulting in big humanitarian miseries".

"Qatar's position has been to balance between all the sides - it has supported the PA and Hamas".

Mauritania has strong military and economic ties to oil-rich Saudi Arabia, which led the diplomatic spat with Qatar.

Qatar has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to build roads, houses, schools and clinics in impoverished Gaza, which Hamas seized its control from the rival Palestinian movement Fatah in 2007.

Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi says Qatar's citizens are "questioning if this is going to end up in seeing a change in leadership itself".

According to Shadid, his NGO had sought clarification - unsuccessfully - about the halt in payments from the PA.
