Names of jurors in Bill Cosby sexual assault case released

Alternate juror Mike McCloskey said Monday he was "ridiculously sick" when he found out the main jury couldn't reach a verdict.

The Montgomery County judge who presided over the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial released the identities of the jurors who deadlocked in their deliberations, but jurors will be limited in what they can speak about publicly.

Typically, judges might withhold names of jurors to protect their privacy during the trial but would release them when a trial concludes, if not earlier.

"Jurors shall not disclose anything said or done in the jury room by any of their fellow jurors that may indicate his or her thoughts or opinions", the judge's ruling obtained by the Daily News said.

Two escaped Georgia inmates captured in Tennessee
According to Sills, evidence confirmed that Dubose and Rowe burglarized a residence near where they ditched the vehicle . After their escapee, the fugitives stole first a Honda Civic and then a Ford F-250 pickup truck.

Media organizations including The Associated Press urged a judge to release them, saying the public has an interest in "confirming that the outcome of the first trial was the result of an impartial process".

Constand reported the alleged assault to Canadian authorities in 2005, requiring her and Cosby to give depositions before settling the case for an undisclosed sum in 2006.

After the mistrial announcement, the District Attorney said they would retry the cast against Cosby. Cosby was charged with giving drugs to former Temple University employee Andrea Constand and sexually assaulting her at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. Lawyers for the news outlets argued the jurors played a critical role in the case and could be questioned about their personal views on the evidence they heard or about the sequestration and jury systems. Even the news media all but shrugged when Tamara Green, a lawyer, went on NBC's Today in 2005 and accused Cosby of drugging, undressing and groping her in the 1970s. They believe any comments jurors make to the media might also make it hard to find an unbiased jury pool.

The jury was selected from the Pittsburgh area and spent two weeks sequestered 300 miles from home.

The document said the court had "significant concerns" over publication of the names during the trial, when attempts to contact jurors' families and friends, who would likely have contacted the jurors, would have caused "consternation and distraction from their sworn duty". "I am eternally grateful for the messages I have received in recent days", Andrea Constand said in a tweet. "She's just looking for justice, I believe". It is not yet clear why jurors could not reach a verdict, or how close they came.

O'Neill sealed the jurors names immediately after jury selection last month in Pittsburgh, citing the media scrutiny.
