For a week, Fallon retakes the lead from Colbert

Returning to his CBS "Late Show" on Monday night, host Stephen Colbert talked briefly about his recent trip to Russian Federation, where he filmed several segments for future broadcasts.

In recent months, Colbert has pulled ahead of NBC rival Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" in the late night ratings battle. That was a whisker above the 2.62 million achieved by Colbert on the CBS "Late Show".

"Man, it is good to be back in the USA", Colbert told his "Late Show" audience Monday night. He appeared on a Russian talk show and "announced" he was considering a run for president in 2020.

CBS also expects that Colbert will win when people who watch on a time-delayed basis are tallied.

John Oliver's lump of coal for miners: Trump lies about jobs
And because of that, Oliver believes Trump needs to be more truthful to the mining community. But most people don't have the imagination-or whatever-to leave their mine.

"I don't know if you knew I was in Russian Federation last week", Colbert joked.

"Also got some attention from American intelligence". But it's important to keep your eye on a comedian, while he's in Russian Federation, doing jokes. The CIA reportedly captured intelligence that Russian officials were working to help Trump's campaign, but the president and the administration have vehemently denied collusion with the Russian government.

"I'm just exhausted of Trump", she said on a panel about her show on May 16. "I'd have my son-in-law ask them". "I could be giving state secrets to the Russians", he said. Then: "Oh, wait, someone's already got that covered". Perhaps not coincidentally, Emmy nomination-round voting closed Monday night-just days after Colbert made his trip public, first through a snarky tweet addressed to Donald Trump.
