China will stick to Paris climate deal

If President Donald Trump decides to officially withdraw the us from the Paris Agreement on climate as expected this week, reaction from key officials in New Mexico will range from disgust to relief to indifference.

That's what the top House Democrat is calling President Donald Trump's expected decision to pull the USA from a historic climate agreement.

The US administration under Trump - who once called climate change a "hoax" - has resisted intense pressure from US partners to commit to respecting the global accord.

"But even if the government decides to leave the Paris agreement, it's very important for U.S. society as a whole - the cities, the states, the companies, the businesses - to remain engaged", he said.

Rajoy and Modi agreed to boost bilateral cooperation in the field of combatting climate change.

Countries can't withdraw until three years after the Paris Agreement went into effect. Two senior US officials familiar with Trump's plans told CNN on Wednesday that the US President is expected to withdraw from the Paris accord.

Asked by another Twitter userwhat would happen if Trump withdraws despite Musk's advice, the entrepreneur said he would have "no choice" in the matter.

Barack Obama, whose administration spent years painstakingly negotiated the terms of the Paris climate agreement, said leaving the Paris accord is an abdication of U.S. leadership around the globe.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warns West to 'stop intimidating North Korea'
The missile reached an altitude of 2,000 kilometers (1,245 miles), a first for a North Korean missile. But he added: "We must stop intimidating North Korea and find a peaceful solution to this problem".

"The U.S. pulling out of Paris will not stop the fight against global warming, since nearly all other countries are committed to it", said Stefan Rahmstorf, a German climate researcher.

The simple reason is America would join just two other countries in refusing to back the Paris agreement, Nicaragua and Syria. What they're trying to tell everybody is we're destroying the planet, folks, and they sadly convinced a whole bunch of young people it's actually in progress and happening.

Trump promised during his 2016 campaign that he'd withdraw the U.S. from the deal.

The United States, under former President Barack Obama, had committed to reduce its emissions by 26 percent to 28 percent from 2005 levels by 2025.

The White House did not confirm those reports, and it was unclear whether Trump would fully scrap USA participation, merely water down United States emissions objectives - or surprise everyone with a decision to follow the status quo.

Donald Trump listens to the prime minister of Belgium during a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.

The Republican vowed at the time to "cancel" the Paris deal within 100 days of becoming president on January 20, part of an effort to bolster USA oil and coal industries.

The Trump administration could withdraw from the entire United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, an worldwide treaty ratified by the US Senate and signed by President George H.W. Bush in the 1990s.
