Trump suggests he might drop daily press briefings

Sanders said Thursday that Trump would "love nothing more for this investigation to continue to its completion".

The queries on the recordings followed Trump's tweet that said Comey had "better hope that there are no "tapes" of conversations between the two of them.

"President Donald Trump is considering?making changes to his communications team, which he blames for failing to contain the controversy surrounding his firing of former FBI Director James Comey, according to multiple administration officials", the journal reported. "Unless I have them every two weeks and I do it myself".

Excerpts of the interview, taped Friday, were released just hours after a morning Twitter rant in which the erratic executive said he might cancel the White House daily press briefing and indicated the information his press office was providing to reporters wasn't necessarily true.

One of the silliest stories to emerge from the Donald Trump administration this past week was the report that Press Secretary Sean Spicer, in an attempt to avoid reporters, hid near or around or maybe inside some White House bushes so he wouldn't have to talk to the press about the firing of former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey.

As in Friday's briefing, Spicer refused to commit when asked if the White House would keep the daily briefing. "I think it's a good idea".

President Trump: I Was Going to Fire James Comey 'Regardless of Recommendations'
On Tuesday, the White House previously said President Trump fired Comey at the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The only believable explanation for the firing is that the FBI investigation is getting somewhere and poses a threat to Trump.

Abbas says talks with Trump positive, if short on specifics
Trump did directly implore the Palestinian leadership to end what Israel and the United States say is anti-Israel rhetoric. "Mr. Three Republican senators urged a halt to such payments in a letter to Trump that reflected widespread opinion in Congress.

"We want this to come to its conclusion, we want it to come to its conclusion with integrity", said deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders, referring to the FBI's probe into Moscow's interference in last year's election.

"Is he your press secretary today and tomorrow?"

Earlier in her briefing Thursday, Sanders claimed that Comey's firing had not altered the Russian Federation investigation at all. Sanders commented at the press briefing May 11 that Trump fired Comey based on a recommendation from the Justice Department, but Trump contradicted this in an interview later that day when he said it had been his decision.

"He's doing a good job, but he gets beat up", Trump said.

"Doing away with briefings would reduce accountability, transparency, and the opportunity for Americans to see that, in the USA system, no political figure is above being questioned", Jeff Mason, WHCA president said in a statement.
