Rebel Wilson vows to tell all during court case

Rebel Wilson vows to tell all during court case

Rebel Wilson walks from the Supreme Court after day one of her defamation trial against Bauer Media.

The Pitch Perfect star is not happy with how she was portrayed by a few magazine articles.

Hollywood movie star Rebel Wilson has rapped a hallucinated Oscar acceptance speech in court.

Wilson's lawyer, Matthew Collins QC, said her "world collapsed" when the articles appeared in several of the group's magazines, including Woman's Day and the Australian Women's Weekly, at a time when her career was reaching a "pinnacle" with the release of the film Pitch Perfect 2.

As the gallery watched an a capella group harmonising Ace of Bass's I Saw The Sign, it was hard to believe they were in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

'People really warmed to my character Fat Amy, ' she said.

She claims the articles gave the impression she was a serial liar who has falsified much of her back-story, including her name and age.

According to courtroom reports, Wilson is saying that she was sacked from at least two movies and has been unable to find work since Bauer's campaign of eight articles was published back in 2015.

Tom Hardy to Play Venom, Ruben Fleischer to Direct
Tom Hardy played Bane in WB's The Dark Knight , and ever since then has been reportedly offered numerous super hero roles. It looks like a larger shared Spider-Man universe, whether it features Spidey or not, is back on at Sony Pictures .

And, what's more, Wilson claims that the articles cost her a few acting roles.

Georgina Schoff, QC, for Bauer Media, said the company would rely on four main points of defence, including that the articles were substantially true.

The trial continues, with Rebel expected to take to the witness stand later this week.

'They weren't nasty articles, ' she said, adding Wilson lied about her age to journalist Caroline Overington.

He told the story of Ms Wilson's upbringing - from growing up in Sydney's west to a law degree to her scene-stealing big break in the film Bridesmaids, which netted her the grand fee of $3500. Rebel Wilson at a dog show.

Wilson returned to Australia and made a decision to become an actress after finishing an arts-law degree at the University of New South Wales.

She also claimed the unnamed source used by the publications was a former classmate who had become "obsessed" with her success and went to Australian media to sell her story, which could have been easily debunked with an Internet search, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

"To stand up there like that, " she said.
