Melissa McCarthy adds spice (and Spicer) as host of 'SNL'

"I'm married!" McCarthy as Spicey tells Baldwin's Trump, "I can't!"

In real life, Sanders was forced to field questions about the press secretary's role as Trump threatened to cancel all press briefings - and SNL jumped into that debate head first.

After a few trademark violent "Spicy" outbursts, the press secretary took up the defense of President Donald Trump against accusations that he fired FBI Director James Comey in an effort to obstruct the investigation into Trump's ties to Russian Federation.

The Post initially described the scenario as Spicer standing "in the bushes" but later issued a clarification stating he was "among the bushes".

Instead, he gets the "Godfather II" Fredo kiss, i.e. the kiss of death, despite Spicer's protestations that "I'm married!" That's not a criticism: The beats are reliably amusing, whether it's Spicer physically abusing reporters (with fire extinguishers and pillars) or having overly-elaborate props (in this case, Russian nesting dolls, which is amusing on multiple layers, literally) in order to convey his points.

"That's right, Spicy's back", McCarthy/Spicer announces.

After asking for Holt's undying loyalty, Baldwin's Trump plainly admits he fired Comey over his investigation into possible collusion between the administration and Russian Federation.

Watch Miley Cyrus's video for new single 'Malibu'
Instead, " Malibu ", released on Thursday afternoon, is a sweet, tear-jerking tribute to her actor fiancé, Liam Hemsworth. Miley Cyrus is taking her fans on a breezy jaunt to " Malibu " on her first solo pop single in almost four years.

McCarthy has always been a great host - this was her fifth time - but most of the excitement was obviously focused on her Sean Spicer impression. When it was announced that she would be hosting the May 13th SNL episode with musical guest Haim, everyone immediately knew that we would be seeing more of "Spicy".

"You invited us", Reynolds told her as Lively nodded.

"Everybody's convinced: They say there is no collusion", Trump said. In response, Spicer throws one of the room's pedestals. Though this sketch hit the same beats as the previous ones, the use of nesting dolls topped Spicer's previous use of toys to explain things to reporters.

But when several of the reporters point out that perhaps Trump is being less than honest with him, "Spicer" sets out on a soul-searching mission to confront his boss.

"Sean, kiss me", Trump says.

While I didn't love the skit's treatment of mental health (The "he's crazy" jokes aren't amusing!), I'll never get exhausted of McCarthy's fantastic physical comedy. "I'm going to New York", Spicer declared before jetting off on his motorized podium. She eventually finds Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, at a New Jersey golf course. "He hired lawyers to agree with him".

Trump acknowledged it was before the two embraced, ending the sketch. Because McCarthy had to look like herself for the monologue, she couldn't get into character as Spicer until the fourth live segment of the night.
