Predators' Fiala out of playoffs after breaking leg

Predators' Fiala out of playoffs after breaking leg

Nashville Predators forward Kevin Fiala broke his left leg in Wednesday night's Game 1 against the St. Louis Blues and is out of the playoffs, the team announced.

The Blues cut the lead to 2-1 on Colton Parayko's goal at 8:04 of the second period, but the Predators responded with another power-play goal three minutes later to again give them a two-goal advantage.

The first goal was deflected, but Allen would have saved that one in the first round.

Ryan Ellis once again gave Nashville the upper hand 3:07 into the final period, but Jori Lehtera evened it up four minutes later, setting the stage for Tarasenko's game victor with less than four minutes remaining.

The Ducks came unglued defensively in the third period of Game 1, yielding four goals.

St. Louis rode the red-hot Jake Allen through its first-round series against the Minnesota Wild where they were outplayed in every facet of the series - except goaltending. Past year the Preds won an opening-round series over the Ducks but fell to the Sharks in seven games in the second round.

If that's how this series shakes out, we are absolutely here for it.

A total of 6.44 million shares exchanged at hands and its average trading volume is standing at 7.95 million shares. The company is expecting revenue for the year to range from roughly $125.09 billion to $130.50 billion.

After winning 11 of 19 in the first period, the Blues finished the game at 38 percent, and they continue to be last among all playoff teams at 41.9 percent. Nashville gave the Blues' room to work with this game, so they will need to tighten up their defense and keep possession of the puck as much as possible.

The Predators won Game 1 of the series 4-3 and will play Game 2 in St. Louis on Friday at 7 p.m.

"Guys fought back great", Allen said. "We lost the first game, we couldn't lose this one". "We're fortunate that (Parayko) didn't' get too banged up". "Everything went well I guess and he's doing well". We have to be a little more focus and committed to playing a 60-minute game.

Former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, who has a house in Nashville, attended the game wearing a Predators jersey.

"It was tough", Predators defenseman P.K. Subban said. Unfortunately for fans of both the Predators and Blues, it seems as if that won't be the case in round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

"It ended up actually going off a stick and in, but I'm not taking anything away from him (Tarasenko)", Predators goalie Pekka Rinne said. If the St. Louis forwards can put more pressure on the Predators' defensemen, they can get more shots on goal and expose Rinne's perceived weaknesses, which include a tendency to get caught in transition on quick plays and pass- outs and get beat on bad-angle shots, especially through the five-hole.
