Another Georgia Cop Fired For Punching Man In Face During Traffic Stop

Former Gwinnett County police officer Robert McDonald.

"What happened yesterday was clearly outside of state law and department policy", the statement says. The statement continued with, "We do not tolerate actions that are not consistent with our core values or state law".

The chief said he was disturbed by what he saw in the videos and by the actions of his officers.

The officer was responding as a backup officer to assist a supervisor with a traffic stop at the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway at Lawrenceville Suwannee Road.

McDonald, who had been on the force since August of 2013, was later terminated from the department.

McDonald was forthcoming, saying he was wrong for kicking Hollins.

The officer, who has not been publicly identified, was placed on administrative leave, his department-issued firearm was taken and he was sent home, Washington said.

Ayers said McDonald had been called as back-up after the suspect initially resisted arrest but by the time he arrived, the situation was largely under control. It proved crucial to the investigation and confirmed that the force used was unnecessary. The department says both men are now under criminal investigation.

In California, a police officer in Sacramento is under criminal investigation after he was captured on video throwing an accused jaywalker to the ground and punching him repeatedly.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk officially revealed
Rounding it all up are the quad exhaust tips finished in Black Chrome and a unique rear valence painted in Gloss Black. The Trawkhawk also gets five driving modes: Automatic, Sport , Track , Tow , and Snow , and a custom mode.

It seems as if you can't just beat up a man at a traffic stop even as a law-enforcement officer.

"I am nearly at a loss of words about what we have had to go through today for the unwarranted actions of two of my officers", he said.

Public outrage at how police departments responded to previous misconduct accusations only partly explain the reason for the swift action this week in California and Georgia, according to Alexander.

The disturbing videos that emerged this week necessitated immediate responses, Alexander says.

The two officers are white and Hollins appears to be black, police Cpl. Seconds later, the video shows Officer Robert McDonald come in and kick the handcuffed man.

When Bongiovanni told Hollins last August that he was under arrest for not having a driver's license and asked him to step out of the auto, Hollins became hysterical, Bongiovanni wrote then.

Cain was charged with resisting arrest.

He was pulled over because his red Acura Integra didn't have a license plate and one of his brake lights was broken. Hollins also changed lanes three times without a signal. The officer also said he smelled marijuana. Police directed him to leave the vehicle off. Police report they smelled marijuana from the auto and told the drive he had been pulled over for changing lanes three times without using a signal. That triggered Bongiovanni's memory of the August arrest, and he chose to call for backup, according to the report.

Bongiovanni, who's been on the force 19 years, wrote he ordered Hollins out of the vehicle, but a struggle ensued.
