Stephen Colbert Revives His Right-Wing Alter-Ego To Eulogize Obama's Legacy

Stephen Colbert Revives His Right-Wing Alter-Ego To Eulogize Obama's Legacy

Stephen Colbert brings his signature satire and comedy to THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, where he talks with an eclectic mix of guests about what is new and relevant in the worlds of politics, entertainment, business, music, technology and more. Instead, as he explained on Thursday night's show, he's that Colbert's "identical twin cousin", asking, "How many times do I have to scream that at the lawyers?!"

"Now the Obama era is coming to an end, and on behalf of everyone who opposed you, sir, I just want to say: Please don't go", he says. He also celebrated that "our America-hating, secret Muslim, lead-from-behind, terrorist-fist-bumping, hopey-changey, Apologist-in-Chief is leaving office". With that cleared up, "Colbert" waltzed onto the stage, took a seat at the desk, and launched into a familiar, if slightly tweaked segment: The Werd. For that, Colbert wanted to say thanks to the 44th POTUS, and he did that with one of his best segments of 2017 so far.

Are Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid all set to tie the knot?
On Monday, model Gigi Hadid sparked engagement rumors after she was caught wearing a ring on her left finger. Zayn and Gigi, who allegedly started dating just months later, appear to be more in love than ever recently.

Thursday night's "werd" was, "Thanks, Obama". The right-wing pundit found himself praising the former president, who Colbert-as-Colbert alleged expanded the "killer drone program", spied on American citizens using the NSA, allowed the "Wall Street banks" to get even bigger, and failed to close Guantanamo Bay. "At least leave Biden!" he yelled. "I mean, honestly, without you, what do we believe?" While "post-factual politics" is a phrase that's been thrown around a lot since Trump first started running for president, it's important to remember that Obama faced insane, groundless allegations from the get-go (a handy visual summary of which can be found here), long before Trump was on the scene, and did so with vast calm. "He transformed me. And now I have no idea who that is".

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Stephen reviving his Colbert Report alter-ego?
